چکیده
Abstract Liquid-liquid phase separation within the cytosol leads to formation of protein-enriched droplets inside cells. These known as biomolecular condensates have ultra-low interfacial tensions and fulfill a vast range functions Biomolecular condensation can take place at plasma membrane generate mechanical forces on membranes result wetting. But little is about wetting by condensates. In this study, we utilize energy minimization explore wide parameters determine dependence phenomena tension, bending rigidity, line spontaneous curvature. We observe that interacting nanodroplets vesicles mutually remodel one another. addition, parameter regimes for which droplet-membrane systems exhibit axisymmetric non-axisymmetric contact lines. Our results provide insights into understanding intracellular processes physical mechanisms based mutual remodeling membranes.

Shape remodeling and blebbing of active cytoskeletal vesicles
Morphological transformations of living cells, such as shape adaptation to external stimuli, blebbing, invagination, or tethering, result from an intricate interplay between the plasma membrane and its underlying cytoskeleton, where molecular motors generate forces. Cellular complexity defies a clear identification of the competing processes that lead to such a rich phenomenology. In a syntheti...
متن کاملLPS Remodeling Triggers Formation of Outer Membrane Vesicles in Salmonella
UNLABELLED Outer membrane vesicles (OMV) are proposed to mediate multiple functions during pathogenesis and symbiosis. However, the mechanisms responsible for OMV formation remain poorly understood. It has been shown in eukaryotic membranes that lipids with an inverted-cone shape favor the formation of positive membrane curvatures. Based on these studies, we formulated the hypothesis that lipid...

Flat gold nanostructures on inert substrates like glass or graphite were illuminated by single intensive laser pulses with fluences above the gold melting threshold. The liquid structures produced in this way are far from their equilibrium shape, and a dewetting process sets in. On a time scale of a few nanoseconds, the liquid contracted toward a sphere. During this contraction, the center of m...

Chronic increases in arterial blood flow elicit an adaptive response of the arterial wall, leading to vessel enlargement and reduction in wall shear stress to physiological baseline value. Release of nitric oxide from endothelial cells exposed to excessive shear is a fundamental step in the remodeling process, and potentially triggers a cascade of events, including growth factor induction and m...
متن کاملTraffic flow of interacting self-driven particles: rails and trails, vehicles and vesicles
One common feature of a vehicle, an ant and a kinesin motor is that they all convert chemical energy, derived from fuel or food, into mechanical energy required for their forward movement; such objects have been modelled in recent years as self-driven “particles”. Cytoskeletal filaments, e.g., microtubules, form a “rail” network for intra-cellular transport of vesicular cargo by molecular motor...
